WhatsApp Spotted Testing Ability to Upload Media as Status Update When Sharing Over Chat

WhatsApp has been spotted working on an ability to let you upload a photo or video as a Status update when you are sending the media to a recipient in a chat. It would be an extension to the option to edit recipients of media content before sharing them in chats.
