Black Ops 4’s cosmetics market set to launch on PC this week
Get ready for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to get more vibrant: This week, the Black Market will launch on PC, allowing players to unlock new cosmetics for their in-game characters. “The Black Market serves as the one-stop shop for awesome gear and new ways to express yourself in Black Ops 4,” publisher Activision wrote in a blog post Friday. “It starts with players having more choice than ever.” The Black Market launched on PlayStation 4 Friday, and it’ll come out on Xbox One and PC one week after, this coming Friday. It offers a Contraband stream, which garners you rewards “simply by playing the game.” Activision says Contraband items - gestures, tags, and character flair - will be delivered via timed ‘Operations,’ which will change every couple months and provide new opportunities to earn cosmetic items in the game. Each new Operation comes with new playable (and presumably unlockable) characters, along with signature weapons, new specialist outfits, and new tags (normally called sprays) and gestures (emotes). “These rewards provide the ultimate way to show off to friends and express yourself in multiplayer and Blackout,” Activision says.
