DICE apologises for its silence on Battlefield 5’s TTK and adds more core playlists
After feedback from fans bemoaning recent changes to Battlefield V's time-to-kill (TTK), the game is about to get a 'core' version of all its playlists, in which the TTK will be the same as it was at launch. The news comes via an announcement from Dan Mitre, Battlefield's global community manager, on Reddit. On behalf of developer DICE, Mitre apologises "for the silence over the last couple of days on the TTK topic. We've seen it's been a big talking point and causing a divide in the community, which was never our intention. We have been listening closely to what you've all been saying." Global TTK in Battlefield V was slowed in a patch at the end of last month, as "we're seeing players die too often/too quickly and get frustrated because of it." In today's post, Mitre elaborates that "the intent came from us observing that new players are having a very hard time with the game compared to our core players". As a compromise, DICE offered a playlist running Conquest mode on the old 'core' settings, but Mitre says this was "clearly" not enough. So now every playlist gets a core mode, "giving you a clearer choice between new and old settings."
