Epic apologises for Fortnite’s Infinity Blade and pulls it out of the game
December 14, 2018 Epic has removed the Infinity Blade from Fortnite, and will rethink its approach to Mythic weapons from here on.
Epic has Vaulted Fortnite’s Infinity Blade. Since it launched on Tuesday, Fortnite’s Infinity Blade has been almost universally derided by the community. Yesterday, Epic’s plans for a minor nerf - and more similar items - caused a further outcry, and today the studio has finally made the announcement that the community had been hoping for. “We messed up and rolled out the Infinity Blade overpowered / without good counters, especially in the end game,” the company says on Reddit. “The Infinity Blade has been Vaulted and we are re-evaluating our approach to Mythic items. Thanks for calling us out on this!” The Infinity Blade was even more controversial among pro players, as it launched hours before the $1 million Winter Royale finals, and generally wrought havoc among the competition. Epic said in a Reddit post yesterday that more details on its “competitive philosophy when it comes to new items, updates and seasons” will come next week.from PCGamesN https://ift.tt/2LhGrjR
