THQ Nordic wants you to know it didn’t sign off on this Metro Exodus Epic store thing

Metro Exodus is ditching Steam to exclusively head to the Epic Games store. Publisher Deep Silver is under the same umbrella as THQ Nordic, so you might be wondering whether this means further games from either publisher will follow similar rules of exclusivity. THQ Nordic doesn’t want to completely rule out the possibility, but the publisher is publicly distancing itself from the decision. “The decision to publish Metro Exodus as a timed Epic Store exclusive was made entirely on Koch Media’s side as Metro is their intellectual property,” THQ Nordic says on Twitter. “They are a sister company of THQ Nordic (Vienna), which is the reason why we can and will not comment on this matter.” The company follows up to say “We do not want to categorically exclude the possibility of timed exclusives for any of our games in the future, but speaking in the here and now, we definitely want to have the players choose the platform of their liking and make our portfolio available to as many outlets as possible.”
