The next Call of Duty game will have a single-player campaign

Information surrounding this year’s upcoming Call of Duty game has come to light. During last night’s controversial earnings call, Activision president Rob Kostich confirmed, among other things, that this year’s title will have a campaign. According to CharlieIntel, Kostich said that 2019’s iteration on the series, which is being developed by Infinity Ward, will have an “entirely new campaign, a huge and expansive multiplayer world, and some fun co-op gameplay.” Kostich went on to address the quality of Infinity Ward’s next title. The studio’s previous Call of Duty outing, Infinite Warfare, didn’t perform particularly well, prompting its former creative strategist to suggest that there will never be a sequel to the space-based FPS. By contrast, Kostich said that the new game “is going to resonate very powerfully with our community. It is an amazing game.” That sentiment was followed up by other Activision executives, including CEO Bobby Kotick, who said that “I haven’t seen this much enthusiasm that I can remember almost ever,” and the company’s CFO Dennis Durkin, who said “the team that’s building this game for us in Activision is building what they believe [is] the best Call of Duty we’ve ever built.”
