So, is Kings Canyon coming back to unranked Apex Legends?
Apex Legends is testing a new format for its ranked series this time around - a split which will see players on World's Edge for the first half of Series 3, then back on Kings Canyon for the remaining six weeks. Players have been hoping for a Kings Canyon comeback since the map went away in the first place, but right now it's only confirmed for ranked play.
But will you be able to play Kings Canyon if you're only interested in public games? Probably. Dataminer That1MiningGuy says (via Dexerto) "I do believe Kings Canyon will be available for both Ranked and Squads whenever the split happens." The prolific - and accurate - dataminer stops short of confirming the split for public games, saying this is "just a likelihood due to code."
The split will happen on March 24, so at a minimum you'll be back to Kings Canyon in ranked play on that day. Kings Canyon has only been gone since the start of Season 3, but fans have been begging for a comeback pretty much ever since.
