Metal Gear movie director backs Oscar Isaac’s bid to play Snake

Oscar Isaac says he wants to play Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid movie adaptation. In a recent interview with IGN, the actor, who is best known for his role as fighter pilot Poe Dameron in the current Star Wars trilogy, says he’s “throwing my hat in for that one.” In an interview ahead of upcoming Netflix film Triple Frontier, Isaac and his co-stars were asked what videogame movies they’d like to star in. Almost without hesitation, the X-Men: Apocalypse actor said he wanted to appear as Snake in the movie adaptation of the series, which currently has Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts attached as director. What’s more, it looks like Vogt-Roberts is very keen for Isaac to take on the role. In a tweet posted early this morning, the director said that “the fill process required to cast an icon hasn’t even started yet,” but revealed that he’d been in touch with artist BossLogic, who is known for his concept work which imagines famous actors in pop-culture roles.
