The Witcher 3’s game director has joined the Cyberpunk 2077 team
One of The Witcher 3’s game director’s has moved over to the Cyberpunk 2077 team. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who has been with developer CD Projekt Red since 2004, has also been named the company’s vice president of game development. That information comes via Tomaszkiewicz’s LinkedIn account (via PCGamer). Given that Cyberpunk 2077’s development is understood to be well underway, the timeframe is a little strange, particularly as Geralt’s final adventure released in 2016. It’s possible, then, that the new role is intended to fill the gap left by fellow game director Sebastian Stepien, who left CDPR for Blizzard earlier this year. The Witcher 3’s third game director, Mateusz Kanik, is now also working on the new game. It’s also worth pointing out that we don’t know the Cyberpunk 2077 release date just yet. We can take some guesses as to when it’ll actually come out, but all of those are likely to leave the new design director plenty of time to make his mark on the game.
